Lunch in the City

We checked out Aunt Jackie's new office over the summer and had a delicious lunch around the corner.  Too fun!

They're HOME!

The week Alex and Brad were gone was a really tough one for Abby.  I had enrolled her in camp at the Racquet Club (which she and Alex had attended previously and she enjoyed) to try and distract her/give her something special and fun to do during the day.  Even with friends at the camp she was sad every day.  It didn't take the director and I long to figure out that she was sad because Alex was not there with her.  She missed him (and Brad) ALL week long.  She waited outside for them to get home Friday morning and was beside herself with joy when they returned.

As I helped Brad sort the dirty clothes on the front lawn and shake everything out, Abby and Alex snuggled into a chair, iPads in hand, and were giddy to be back together again.  I'm sure Alex was in some sort of electronics withdrawal too.  Brad took Abby to Great Falls National Park to hang out (her choice) then later we all went swimming together, where she was happy to have her permanent playmate back!

Webelos Camp

Alex and Brad went to Webelos Camp for a week in August.  Both were a little anxious about going but wound up having a blast!  The boys loved it and swam everyday, dug for gold at the "Big Dig" site, practiced boating safety, did some woodworking, fished, practiced archery and bb guns (and Nerf guns), and took turns setting  up and cleaning up in the mess hall.  Luckily the weather wasn't terribly hot that week which made things more enjoyable.  I'm not sure I would've sent him this young without Brad as a chaperone, but it worked out well for both of them.

Summer Fun!

Moving

The upside to moving right down the street is that moving oversized items like lawnmowers and bikes is a breeze!

The downside of moving right down the street is that there are still the same number of boxes to unpack.

Cincy

Cincinnati over Fourth of July was super fun!  We saw our friends and family and hit quite a few of the Cincinnati hot spots.  There was a lot of swimming, picnicing, and playing.  We played many rounds of Scene It, Harry Potter edition, that Mom had picked up at a garage sale.  What a find!  The day we went to Coney Island was cloudy but the sun came out after lunch, right when we were finished riding all the rides.  The kids love visiting the large pool there and using the waterslides.  We also took the kids down to the fountains at Bicentennial Commons where they splashed around on the hot hot day.
