Gigi and Grandma Kathy Visit

Gigi and Grandma Kathy came to visit and we spent some time exploring the Air and Space Museum's Invention Fair.  The kids tested out a few inventions and we had a fun "birthday" lunch, complete with singing.  I think the family next to us leaned over to ask how old one of the kids was turning and we had to explain that no no, the celebration was for the two 30-somethings!  Great Falls National Park is always a hit with the kids and we were excited to take Grandma and Gigi there.  It was a chilly day but we picnicked anyway and explored the welcome center.

Halloween

Halloween 2014 featured Elsa from Frozen and a Minecraft Creeper.  Grandma Kathy and Gigi were in town visiting and Jackie and Scott stopped by as well.  A few of the kids' friends trick or treated with them around the surrounding streets for a few hours.

Fall Foliage

The beautiful change from green to orange/yellow/red to brown is so fun to watch.  Every morning the landscape takes on a different look and is gorgeous.  The weekend upon weekend of raking leaves in November, however, we will not miss.

Apple Picking at Hollin Farms

We love venturing out to Hollin Farms for a little apple picking in September.  The views are spectacular and the fruit is pretty tasty as well!

Buddy!

Abby was Star Student early on in the year and was able to bring home Buddy the class pet.  We took Buddy with us all over town that weekend and then had to chronicle his activities.  One requirement was to feed him bananas :)

Washington Monument is Back Open!

After being damaged in the 2011 earthquake, the Washington Monument reopened this May.  We were able to get tickets for a beautiful September day with Jackie and Scott.  The views are pretty incredible and it is a fun ride up the inside of the monument!
