When we bought this house, we always thought this shelving structure separating the master bedroom from the closets was odd. It was most definitely an after-thought.
As we dug into the master bathroom and the vanity area, we struggled with what to do with these shelves. Our skills as far as adding walls, etc. are sort of limited, although it would have made total sense to close this area in as a master closet.
We decided that we would at the very least, remove the track lighting that was up inside the structure. Well, one thing led to another and pretty soon the whole piece came down.
If I remember right, this was right before Brad went out of town for several days, probably a Sunday afternoon or something.
A little sanding, a little paint, a new light fixture, a lot of improvement.
Footnote: We have since sold the house (yay!). The new owners first project (we moved down the street) was to close in the master closet and build out the bathroom. We couldn't be happier for them!
