Whenever we want to get Alex's attention, we say "Hey Alex". We didn't realize how often we were saying the word "Hey", and apparently it has rubbed off on Alex. Over the Christmas holiday he addressed Mom by saying "Hey, Apple Juice". All that was missing from the end of his exclamation was the word "now". After a few more attempts at using "hey" to address his elders, I think he got the hint that this was not acceptable talk. We're also phasing this word out of our vernacular.
