Their current trick includes Alex waving the feather duster over Scooter's head while Scooter tries to take it away from Alex. Actually I hear Scooter down here alot with that feather duster at night, wrestling around with it. It has a wooden handle and you always know when he's coming up the stairs with that thing as it hits the wall on each step up!
Scooter loves to play outside with us too. He never runs away. In fact, even in our old house where there were lots of other cats around, he would chase them to the edge of the driveway but never ran across. He slips under the fence every now and then, but Alex always busts him and he returns quickly.
The really cold weather is hard for him because he's stuck in the house too with us. As an alternative, he meows inside to be let out into the garage so he can go out there to "play" at night. One night he brought back a very special surprise--poor little field mouse--but Scooter was SO proud.
Here's a photo of Scooter when we first got him. He was pretty bow-legged as a kitten but that has straightened out quite a bit. We love our little Ter!

wow that pic is adorable! Does hanging them on the fridge really help when they meow at 2 am? I think even Dave's patience is wearing thin with this new phenomenon!
I saw this long post and was afraid at first that it was a Scooter obit. Now I know it's just very cold in Chicago and Suzanne is spending too much time indoors....
