Sharing

Can you see the progression of what happened here? It started out so sweet. Alex was reading to Abby, in her bed. We ran to get the camera and the video camera. They did well for about 2 minutes and then a fight erupted over who was going to hold the book. I have a feeling there will be lots more of this in the future!
Another funny "rambling"...Last night Alex came out of his room about an hour after we put him to bed, already dressed for school. When Brad asked him what he was doing, he said this way he wouldn't have to take the time to get dressed in the morning! Apparently this takes way too much of his time in the morning and it was easier to do it at bedtime. After Brad explained to him that his clothes would be all wrinkled (not to mention that they aren't nearly as warm as his flannel PJs) he changed back into his jammies (which he'd already put in the laundry room). I bet he thought he was REALLY on to something there!

Homework

Kindergartners have a weekly homework packet to complete so we try to do a page each day. Friday we were working on this page where Alex had to draw three pictures that started with "S" then write the word next to the picture. When he wrote "ship," I just assumed he'd draw his rendition of a pirate ship, but look at what he came up with! He said "hang on, I need to draw the flames coming out of it." He drew a rocket ship, of course.

Baby Bees

Dancing around the gym.
Taking a break on top of the mats.
Through the triangle, square and circle.
Hanging like a little monkey from the bar. She's strong!

Abby started Baby Bees gymnastics class again today at the park district. The class was full of babies her age and she loved it this time! She ran through the obstacle course several times and even sat still for a few of the songs. Alex acted similarly at this age--loved running around in gym studios but did not embrace the lap-sit song time. I believe his gym class was called "Diaper Daredevils" at this age in TX. There were 3 or 4 little girls with the same curly hair as Abby too!

Table Salsa

I guess from a distance, looks like a typical family having dinner at a typical table.
What happened here?

I made quite a bit of salsa and probably should have transferred it to a smaller bowl before dinner. I successfully spilled salsa all over the table and all I could think to say was "SAVE IT!". Brad looked at me like I was nuts, but you better believe I took a spoon and scooped that yummy salsa up and put it back in the bowl. It tastes fine to me! Alex and I even dipped chips in the remaining "table salsa" :)
