Visit with the Schrenks

Memorial Day weekend we welcomed the Schrenks to Virginia!  Jeff had never visited D.C. and Jenna hadn't been in years so it was fun see some touristy sights.  On Memorial Day, we ventured over to Arlington National Cemetery.  What a beautiful sight to see, especially on the holiday established to remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country.  Large crowds gathered as the President and Mrs. Obama's motorcade passed by, after a ceremony held inside the cemetery that morning.  Everyone was given roses upon entry to the cemetery to place on any memorial they chose.  Liam was a real trooper, venturing all over D.C. with us! On Tuesday while Alex was at school we walked through the memorials around the Tidal Basin on a gorgeous day.  Wednesday they hit a few more hot spots around the city on their own and were thoroughly exhausted by Thursday!  Alex was happy to spend some time with his Godfather too, showing him many of his cool toys.  We were so glad they could come for a visit!
