Following July 4th, we drove to Cincinnati for about a week to visit with friends and family. On our visit to Grandpa's house, Alex pulled out the chess set and asked for a tutorial. He learned quickly and hasn't stopped asking to play since!
Alex also discovered that Grandpa has a BB gun. After practicing BBs again at Cub Scout Day Camp a few weeks prior, he was eager to take a few shots behind Grandpa's house. Alex and Patti proved to be the best shots of the evening. Not wanting to be left out, Grandpa helped Abby take a turn or two. It is a good, safe place to practice target shooting since Grandpa's nearest neighbor lives pretty far away.
