The Gym

We were all in need of a little physical activity, so after much deliberation, we have joined a gym. We are really excited about it and hope to get a lot out of our membership, especially during these cold winter months when it is impossible to get much exercise outside. Tonight was our first time going as a family.

We dropped Alex off in the nursery and he did really well at the start. Each treadmill has an LCD screen in front of it that you can control and if you tune to a certain channel you can see the nursery, which is reassuring. We watched Alex make a break for the door after about 10 minutes and the teen working in there was very patient with him. He pouted and cried for a few minutes but he came around and was playing when we went in to pick him up.

We really wanted to retrieve him on a good note from the nursery in the hopes that he'll want to return there. Next time I'll try taking him in the morning and maybe he'll be a little happier at that time of day. Now that he knows we will definitely be back to get him, it should go smoother.

Ooh, a surprise perk--those TVs have cable. How cool is that?!? Not just 5 or 10 channels but the full 70 or 80 channel line-up. I couldn't' believe it. Brad says I should get out more because it is not that exciting.

There is also a nice warm indoor pool that Alex is dying to try out so the next time they have open swim, we'll be sure to take him.

Alex looks like a gym rat in those OSU warm-ups. Poor Bucks.

Cable at the gym has been my motivation for going for the past two years... :-)
